Incubating French Black Copper Marans

Incubating & Hatching Eggs

The French Black Copper Marans egg has a thicker shell than most chicken eggs.  Increasing the humidity aids the chicks piping and hatching out of their shell.  Periodically, we have eggs for hatching available.  If interested, just drop us line and we will let you know when we expect to have hatching eggs.

To Medicate or Not to Medicate

Since we've not had any issues with the health of our chickens, we do not medicate our chicks feed but we have had our day old chicks vaccinated for Merek's disease which is a highly contagious disease in chickens.

The Brooder

Once the chicks have had an opportunity to escape from their former egg house, we place them into a sanitized, warm brooder and introduce them to their drinking water and small food cup.

Baby Chicks & Pullets

Periodically we offer baby French Black Copper Marans chicks or pullets for sale.  If you would like to be put on our waiting list, just send us an email and we will get back with you on availability.
